It was a beautiful, sunny day at the park. A perfect autumn day for hiking and enjoying nature! We saw many different living organisms in their environments: seagulls, ladybugs, hawks, a whitetail deer, a porcupine, salmon, and a blue heron. We also encountered various land forms as we hiked along: Great Lake, shore, fore-dune, interdunal pond, back dune, linear and parabolic dunes, forest, valley, river, lake, and island. One of the best parts was walking over a man-made dam. Mr. Sawin's favorite part is going over a foot-bridge and hiking on an island covered by a hemlock forest.
